COVID-SECURE CLASSROOMS
We continue to run our open courses, but with limited numbers and with adjustments in place to ensure that it is a COVID-secure environment.
• No sharing of equipment, all candidates have their own equipment for the day
• All desks are seated over 2m apart to maintain social distancing
• Reduced candidate numbers
• No refreshments provided, candidates are welcome to bring their own
• Well ventilated rooms
We can also run courses at your site, providing you have COVID secure measures in place & a large enough training room available which can be set up to maintain social distancing at all times.
VIRTUAL CLASSROOMS
We have adapted the way in which we deliver our courses and can now offer many of our courses as a Virtual Classroom, delivered via Zoom. This means that staff do not all have to be in the same room for training, they just need access to a computer/laptop, camera and microphone to be able to attend. This offers greater flexibility for companies who still have staff working from home, or do not have a large enough training room to meet the social distancing requirements.
We also offer, via our training partners, CITB courses, such as SMSTS and SSSTS remotely via distance learning, using Zoom.
Most courses can now be delivered remotely, although there are some exceptions, please contact our training team to find out more.
FURLOUGH
An employee on furlough can still undertake ‘training’ or ‘learning’ as long as it cannot be used by the employer to generate revenue.
If an employee is required to complete training that will potentially generate revenue for the company, this will bring furlough leave to an end. Our training courses should all be suitable for employees on furlough to undertake, but please contact your HR advisor or our HR team for clarification.

David has worked with us for several years and has made significant progress with us. We had used previous consultants who worked from a distance, appeared once a year for the annual audit, and produced mountains of unused and unread generic paperwork. David has a much more pragmatic and hands on approach. We have over fifty members of staff and he not only knows their names, but has worked out their characters. That last part is important, because he knows how to get them to respond, and raise their own concerns to him. He has also targeted my managers, who previously felt H&S wasn’t their problem. With group meetings and open two way discussions, he has changed their attitudes and, ultimately, the company’s culture. Spending several days on site every month has been key to his success. He is free to go around and watch what we do and how we do it. He will talk to staff and engage them in the process, then sit down with myself or my managers to improve the safety aspects of what we are doing. The regularity of his visits also puts a discipline into our business. He will have highlighted a couple of areas that need addressing and will expect them to be done prior to his next visit. This has also worked well. It’s like painting the Forth Bridge – you will never have a complete policy, but our staff are in a much safer working environment, as are we as business owners. The key element is that a business owner or manager wants to make that H&S culture change, if they do, then David (Stallard Kane) will facilitate that change very effectively.
